From July to November , humpback whales are the queens that cross in our waters to mate and give life.
All year round , come and discover the lagoon and the reef of Moorea in fins, mask and snorkel or in scuba diving. With educational purpose, our expeditions are primarily oriented on the different species of sharks, dolphins, turtles and rays.
For the more experienced divers, offshore trips will allow you to observe pelagic fauna, such as pilot whales, bottlenose dolphins, oceanic sharks, and other fish...

The fleet
The 2 semi-rigid boats are perfectly suited for the lagoon and the ocean. Their V-shaped hull allows the waves to pass smoothly and the inflatable tubes absorb them gently.
Ma’Otugi
Promarine semi-rigid 7.7m boat with a capacity of 12 divers + 1 captain.
Ma’o tua
Apex semi-rigid 7.6m boat with a capacity of 11 divers + 1 captain.
"TAHITI SHARK EXPEDITIONS" is located inside the former hotel Intercontinental Resort & SPA of Moorea in the north west of Moorea. We share the premises with the diving center "Nemo'z" , which is now the diving center of TAHITI SHARK EXPEDITIONS.

"With Tahiti Shark Expeditions, I created a structure that fulfills the dreams I had as a kid."
It was after the filming of the film “Ocean” by Jacques Perrin, which showed the first images of humpback whales in Moorea, that the concept of private days for everyone was born.
Be patient… Taking the time to analyze animal behavior is the key to a great encounter.
Whether for half a day, a full day or a whole stay, our approaches will always be respectful and considerate towards the animals.
For this reason, especially for marine mammals, releases in fins, mask and snorkel are not contractual. But rest assured, that during whale season, we have 95% success!
To make scientists benefit from our, the Tahiti Shark Expeditions team works in close collaboration with the island's environmental associations, and the Department of the Environment.
In addition, Nicolas Buray is also the founder of the "Observatoire des Requins de Polynésie" (Polynesian Shark Observatory). He has been studying Moorea's lemon sharks for over 20 years. Our instructors and guides are therefore properly trained and knowledgeable about sharks.
